About Me

A Gift to Cherish

I grew up in a close-knit family. I lived in the same home as my mom, dad, and younger sister until I married my husband eleven years ago. Every Mother’s Day, I shop for a special gift to give my mom. Because she’s been battling a difficult illness recently, I want to surprise her with something special this year. A few of her favorite things are purses, blouses, scarves, and necklaces. Therefore, I’m shopping at local, department stores with these items in mind. On this blog, I hope you will discover the best types of stores to shop for a Mother’s Day gift at. Enjoy!

Child's Birthday Coming Up Soon? 2 Gift Ideas and Their Benefits

If your child's birthday is coming up soon, you may be wondering what you should get them. Of course, there are many toys you can purchase, but some are better than others. There are actually things you can purchase that offer a lot of fun as well as many benefits. Two of these gift ideas are listed below.

Wooden Play Kitchen

Your child will likely love to get a wooden play kitchen and have a great time playing with it. This toy also offers your child many benefits such as, such as helping with the following.

Sharing

If your child plays with other kids with the play kitchen, they would have to share a lot of things, like the cooking utensils, pots, and pans. The children will have to learn how to work together.

Organization

In many cases, kids are not very organized, and often they are very messy. You can teach your child how to organize the things they use with the play kitchen, such as bowls, spoons, and cups, when they finish playing. They would also have to keep the play food organized. It may take some time for them to learn this, but they will eventually learn how.

Cleaning

Your child's play kitchen will not get really dirty, but you should make them clean it thoroughly at least once a week. Mix up some mild soap and warm water and put it in a bucket. Hand your child a cloth or a sponge and show them how to wipe things down. You could also put this mixture in a spray bottle.

Balls

Balls are inexpensive, and there are many different types to choose from. Your child will not only have fun but also get a lot of exercise.

Fill up a child's swimming pool with a lot of colorful plastic ball like you see in ball pits. Put a small toy in the pool and let them find it. Set up some plastic bottles such as some plastic soda bottles like pins in a bowling alley and let your child bowl. Be ready to set the bottles up quickly, as it will not be hard for your child to knock the bottles down.

Purchase your child a large ball that is similar to an exercise ball, but make sure the ball is very sturdy. Large playground balls work well. Let your child lay over the ball, and roll them back and forth. Let them sit on the ball and then help them bounce.

Your child will have great fun with either of these gifts. Ask them to invite friends over regularly, as they will have even more fun when they do.
